framed in gold wood*

matted in acid-free ivory

We encountered these old rock steps in Texas Hill Country. Who else has climbed this shaded path draped in grapevines and ivy? Some of my earliest painting subjects were of dense forest like this one, so it was fun to revisit summer in the woods in watercolor here, always aware of the life whispering from each square inch of foliage.

Matted in acid-free ivory to 11" x 14" then framed under non-reflective museum glass for the ultimate viewing experience, this original watercolor landscape will take 17" x 2o" on your wall.

The carved wood molding is 3 inches wide and rubbed in soft gold for an elegant, traditional look that reflects the timeless forest path.

about acquiring this original watercolor

The softly antiqued gold wood molding brings out the golden undertones of this dense forest foliage. A frame should compliment the art and showcase it. When that happens, the frame style will fit most any decor.

Big Bend Artist

Old Spanish Trail Studio

Big Bend Artist Lindy Cook Severns, a seventh generation Texan,  paints real places in the wild American west, the high desert ranch lands of Far West Texas and Big Bend country.  Lindy's paintings hang in most every state in the USA, and in collections in England, Australia, Germany and Canada.  The pastel landscape artist | oil painter is among 35 artists selected for inclusion in the definitive book TEXAS TRADITIONS, CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS OF THE LONE STAR STATE, Michael Duty and Susan Hallsten McGarry, 2010.

Featured in the national 2016 PBS documentary WESTERN PERSPECTIVE, the southwest landscape painter lives on a working ranch in the Davis Mountains near Ft Davis and Marfa with husband Jim, a stubbornly affectionate rescued terrier and a cranky African Grey parrot who passionately loves art.  Her studio sits across the road from Old Spanish Trail Gallery and Museum, where Lindy is the Artist-In-Residence.
