Palo Duro and caprock canyons | lindy cook severns art
Texas artist Lindy Cook Severns was four years old when she first waded the red waters of historic Palo Duro Canyon. The historic ruby sandstone canyons of the Texas Panhandle have enchanted the pastel landscape artist | oil painter ever since.
Near Amarillo and Quitaque, the flat terrain of the Caprock plunges without warning into a little known, highly spectacular display of light and shadow. In this small online portfolio of southwest landscape paintings, Lindy shares her love of the Texas canyonlands.
Caprock Canyons State Park and Palo Duro State Park are longtime favorite destinations for Jim and Lindy, landscape painting subjects from the days before the artist photographed her art. This portfolio of original southwest landscape paintings is a sampling of more recent excursions into the wild canyons of the Texas Panhandle.
