Crows Nest Ranch, a heritage Davis Mountains ranch between Fort Davis and Marfa in Far West Texas is an up and down and up again landscape of native grass, scrubby oak and pinon sprouting from red volcanic rock.
Afternoon sun paints long shadows across the high desert.. The challenge is to capture a transient sense of summer light and transfer it to canvas so that the viewer can feel the sun on her shoulders.
