6" x 6" oil miniature wall art

Sunset weaves through the desert mountains in a tapestry of sharp contrast and vivid color. I painted this small southwest skyscape using a palette limited to primary colors, three tubes of paint, plus white. Elegance sometimes demands simplicity.

This original painting is suitable for display on a table easel, propped in a bookcase or hung as wall art.  Lots of options for this original little gem! Scroll to see this painting in its custom frame and hanging actual size on sample walls.

The outer dimensions framed, the footprint this wall art will make are 13" x 13" x 1".

FYI: I painted this sunrise as part of a set, with its companion piece being a sunset, SONGS OF SAGE AT SUNRISE. You can see them together hanging as a grouping below.

about acquiring SUNGLOW, this original miniature oil painting

This miniature oil painting can make an elegant wall statement in an intimate setting.  SUNGLOW is shown actual size here in its frame, to give you an idea of the wall space it will claim.

For a bolder effect, pair these two original oils, SUNGLOW and SONGS OF SAGE AT SUNRISE to make a wall grouping. (More space between the paintings would look better, but technology didn't permit that here!)

Big Bend Artist

Old Spanish Trail Studio

Big Bend Artist Lindy Cook Severns, a seventh generation Texan,  paints real places in the wild American west, the high desert ranch lands of Far West Texas and Big Bend country.  Lindy's paintings hang in most every state in the USA, and in collections in England, Australia, Germany and Canada.  The pastel landscape artist | oil painter is among 35 artists selected for inclusion in the definitive book TEXAS TRADITIONS, CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS OF THE LONE STAR STATE, Michael Duty and Susan Hallsten McGarry, 2010.

Featured in the national 2016 PBS documentary WESTERN PERSPECTIVE, the southwest landscape painter lives on a working ranch in the Davis Mountains near Ft Davis and Marfa with husband Jim, a stubbornly affectionate rescued terrier and a cranky African Grey parrot who passionately loves art.  Her studio sits across the road from Old Spanish Trail Gallery and Museum, where Lindy is the Artist-In-Residence.
