"SEIZING SUNRISE"

I was thrilled to capture this shimmering sunrise on the Chisos Mts from Old Ore Road, Big Bend National Park. In the oil painting, dawn lights Big Bend National Park and its Chisos Mountains one chilly winter morning, with blue and yellow casting a glow across the desert above the Rio Grande.

I love painting the way prickly pear cactus such as this one catch sunlight in a magical translucent glow.
