"OLD TEXAS GIANT"
This stand of cottonwoods, one of them an ancient giant, decorates the volcanic rock palisades between Fort Davis and Alpine in Far West Texas. In the fall, the trees' golden color stands in stark contrast to the red rocked volcanic cliffs. On this day, clouds built high into the blue autumn sky and added their own landscape of giants.
