    Davis Mountains landscape painting

    artist Lindy Cook Severns

unique hand-repainted fine art print, one-of-a-kind work of art | Artist Signature

custom printed giclee on fine art paper

I print a single copy, then meticulously paint right over the art image. I use color-rich soft pastels to add detail, and to reclaim highlights and vivid color. This tender process ultimately creates a unique artwork, a "remarque". I paint over my original signature, then sign the finished artwork anew to indicate that it now stands alone, a new artwork made just for YOU.

an archival acid-free ivory mat and acid-free foam board backing make this elegant artwork ready to frame.

The 16" x 12" art image is matted to outer dimensions of 20" x 16" so it fits a ready made frame (frame not included). The frame you choose can add up to 6" in each dimension, making a substantial wall statement. (Click the dots to scroll thru the images to see the sample walls and virtual frames to get an idea of the comparative size of this art.) You can also take it to a framer and have a colored mat placed over the existing one. Whatever works for you will make this painting happy to be hanging on your wall!

A clear, resealable envelope protects the enhanced print until you frame it, and the ribbon-tied foam board case we package this painting in makes an elegant gift presentation.

The blades of a deep well windmill twinkle in sunbeams filtering through scattered clouds that have blessed the high desert mountains of Far West Texas with rain that's greened up the land. Wildflowers wave back at the sky in this iconic Davis Mountains vista.

In painting this colorful summer landscape, I was careful to let the energetic interaction of land and sky tell the story. Color is important, but here, the composition and the myriad lines of movement are key to the message of abundance and joy I wanted to convey. Listen to the gently spinning blades. Smell the ozone lingering in the air. Feel the grass, cool beneath your feet.

In this painting, all is right with the world, so return whenever you need that assurance.
