A full moon over the Sierra del Carmen from Big Bend National Park -
The Sierra del Carmen range is across the Rio Grande from Big Bend National Park, but the colorful sunset display can be enjoyed from either side of the river. On the golden desert floor, deep shadows cloak spindly stalks of ocotillo.
This pastel is one of three Lindy Cook Severns paintings published in TEXAS TRADITIONS, CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS OF THE LONE STAR STATE by Michael Duty and Susan Hallsten McGarry 2010.
*This largest size is cropped slightly, but closest in format to the original four foot long panoramic pastel landscape painting.
