Davis Mountains of Far West Texas
The blades of a deep well windmill twinkle in sunbeams filtering through scattered clouds that have blessed the high desert mountains of Far West Texas with rain that has turned the land green. Wildflowers wave back at the sky in this iconic Davis Mountains vista.
In painting this colorful summer landscape, I was careful to let the energetic interaction of land and sky tell the story. Color is important, but here, the composition and the myriad lines of movement are key to the message of abundance and joy I wanted to convey.
