Lindy Cook Severns devotes most of her time to painting. But when she teaches, the Fort Davis, Texas painter freely shares the knowledge she's accumulated over a lifetime of painting and drawing. Her occasional workshops are hugely popular, and fill quickly with former students but there are always a few spaces for new easels.

While credits Santa Fe artist Albert Handell for introducing her to soft pastels as a serious painting medium, Lindy is largely self-trained. She uses many techniques she's developed thru trial and error and she shares these with her students. Her information-packed workshops are intense, yet fun and relaxed, with individual attention devoted to fostering each student's unique style.

Jim Severns, fondly known to Lindy's students as "Jim the Go-Fer" assists the artists and is around to answer questions and keep things running smoothly in the background. Most workshops include optional social hours and/or dinners after class. We encourage artists to get to know one another. Workshop artists may bring their spouse or guest to all social events.

Workshops are formatted to fill one to three days.
